RARC Amateur Radio License School

RARC School FCC License Preparatory Courses.  

Theory classes are held on Tuesday nights.  Advanced Electronics and 5 WPM CW are being held on Thursdays,  class start @ 7:00 PM. . Registration, classes, and exams are held at the Bon Air United Methodist Church, 1645 Buford Road, Richmond, VA 23235. See registration link for more details   Registration Information

Monthly Club Meeting

The 2nd Friday of Each Month @  7:00 PM -- The Richmond Amateur Radio Club will meet on Friday at 7:00 PM at the Bon Air United Methodist Church, 1645 Buford Road in historic Bon Air, Virginia. Visitors are welcome!  

 

Weekly Radio Nets:  

Sundays 7:00 PM -- 6 Meters.  50.135 USB  Net control Mike Owens K4RKO.  Come and enjoy the use of this unique band and enjoy a warm and friendly QSO.  You know that there is something special about the people that hang out on 6 meters!

Mondays 8:30 PM -- 2 Meters USB Net.  A  2 meter ssb net, is held weekly  on 144.190 USB.  If you have 2 meter ssb capability drop by and join us.  Greg Curti KG4KWW is acting as net control.  Visitors are welcome to check into the net!

Wednesdays  7:00 PM -- 10 Meters.  The RARC has started a weekly 10-Meter SSB net. We meet on 28.470 MHz.  We will be trying different antennas, radios etc.  and may QSY (QSY to 50.135 USB) to other bands depending upon band conditions and interests of the group. If there is sufficient interest, we will look into reactivating the Old Dominion Chapter of the 10-10 Club. We look forward to hearing you on the band. Visitors are welcome to check into the net!  

Wednesdays  8:00 PM -- D-STAR Net The club has established a D-STAR digital voice net on Wednesday evenings at 8:00 PM. on 145.670 MHZ.  If you are monitoring on your FM radio and hear burst of white noise, that just the folks talking on D-STAR.  Won't you join us for this new digital mode. 

Wednesdays  8:15 PM -- Packet Net A group of Virginia packeteers have begun a packet net on Wednesday nights at 08:15 EST on the N4VEM digipeater.  Frequency is 145.730. If you are local to Richmond just connect to N4VEM "c n4vem" and enter "c" for conference. If you are outside the area you will have to find your route to N4VEM and come join us. 

Thursdays  8:00 PM -- RARC CW NET.  If you are interested in  CW or want to get some on the air copy please come and join us.  This is an un-official net and we are looking for people to come and enjoy rag chewing and honing their CW skills.  Sending speeds will vary and will be adjusted according to the people on the net,  speeds will not be at a speed demon level. We will meet at 8:00 PM on the club repeater 147.255 to coordinate which HF band that we will try and make contact on.  The bands will vary depending on propagation.  If you loose contact with the net,  got back to 147.255 for coordination instructions.
